Who We Are

long shot of downtown from campusWelcome! We hope you’ll explore this site to learn about  IUPUI’s students, faculty and staff, and electronic portfolio initiatives. Our campus was created in 1969 through a partnership among Indiana University, Indiana’s flagship university; Purdue University, Indiana’s land-grant university; and Indianapolis, Indiana’s capital city and largest metropolitan area.

atrium of campus centerOur name says it all: Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis—IUPUI. We are Indiana’s urban research university, the state’s academic health sciences campus, and the public university campus serving central Indiana. Our students receive their degrees—with a choice of some 250 programs—from either IU or Purdue. Collaboration is in our DNA; interdisciplinary programs and research are common. This dynamism propels the IUPUI ePortfolio initiative (described more fully on the Our Campus page), especially the focal project for our Catalyst work.
